The London Market Group (LMG) is changing the way the London Insurance Market is perceived, especially when it comes to entry-level roles. We are passionate about increasing the number of diverse, high quality graduates within our ever-growing sector. We understand that entry into the London Market needs to be more accessible, to meet the needs of incoming graduates.
This is why we have launched the #LondonInsuranceLife Bursary! What is this you ask?
The #LondonInsuranceLife bursary is the latest initiative from the LMG, that will pay off up to 50% of the awardees’ student loan, in relation to their tuition fees specifically.
Who can apply?
To be eligible, applicants must have secured a full-time position within the London Insurance Market at any level or have been working within the London Insurance Market for 6 months or less. So, if you have just graduated and already started work you can apply for this year. If you are in your final year now, and will be looking for work in Insurance, once you have secured your job, you can apply for next year.

The London Insurance Market is the world’s largest market for commercial and specialty insurance – a trading market that helps to take away risk for businesses, people and things. It is comprised of 350+ organisations, employing 52,000 people around the UK. The London Insurance Market is an unrivalled ecosystem of capital providers, underwriters, brokers and service providers and contributes to 10% of London’s GDP. Some of the classes of business covered by the market include:

What do I have to do?
So back to the bursary – applicants must demonstrate how they have promoted and encouraged diversity for an underrepresented group. We are looking for individuals with the creative skills, passion and drive to embark on a journey in increasing diversity within the London Insurance Market.
Successful applicants will be expected to support the LMG team one day a month with the #LondonInsuranceLife campaign. The London Insurance Life duties will include attending events, contributing towards social media content and becoming the face of the campaign around the market. This opportunity will help awardees to develop the specific skills for the workplace and will be supported by their employers. They will also be eligible to attend the LMG ambassador skills events for a period of 18 months from the first day of their employment.
Applicants will have to confirm that they are a residing British citizen and have secured a role in the London Insurance Market. To be eligible, applicants’ contract of employment must be for 18 months or more.
