Universities offering degree apprenticeships

You may have heard that more and more universities are now starting to offer degree apprenticeships and yet you cannot find information on them on the university website or on UCAS Search.

The list of universities that currently offer degree apprenticeships is continually expanding, but the way that they are being set up is in partnership with specific employers. This means that the employers work with the universities to create a bespoke degree programme which leads to a degree but is tailored to meet the specific academic and vocational needs of that particular employer. In some cases the universities are working with consortia of smaller companies to set up a programme that will work across the group.

For this reason, the recruitment of degree apprentices is being managed by the employers’ HR and recruitment teams, in the same way that a job application would be handled. The companies themselves are promoting the opportunities to prospective students. To search for opportunities, visit our list of current degree apprenticeship vacancies.

The element of university study involved varies according to the programme you apply for, but typically you might spend four days a week working and one day a week attending university, or alternatively it might be that you work for three months and then study for three months. Each programme differs.

Here is a list of the current degree apprenticeship programmes which are being offered by different universities. This is changing all the time as new programmes are being developed.
