STEM Subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) have traditionally attracted more men than women but industry is keen to change this. Fortunately for the girls who are good at science subjects, this means that there are an increasing number of scholarships being offered to encourage more women to take up STEM subjects.

Here are some examples of scholarships for women in STEM subjects for both undergraduates and postgraduates. Some of the deadlines may have already passed for this academic year, but remember many of these will be repeated each year.

Female students who are studying Computer Science at any university in Europe who can demonstrate academic background, passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science, and leadership skills.

For women starting their first year of an undergraduate degree in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths) who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and commitment, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and technologists.

Amazon Women in Engineering (Informatics) Scholarship – University of Edinburgh
The bursary is awarded on the basis of significant financial need, but the University will also take account of other personal or family circumstances which might make it difficult for you to take up a place

Women in Science Scholarship
£3,000 a year, open to women who have achieved AAA at A-level and have applied to study Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science at King's College London University
