10 opportunities to give your student income a boost over Christmas

Christmas can be an expensive time and for many students this will bring additional worries. However, spending a little bit of time over the holidays applying for scholarships could bring in some additional cash to help you through the rest of the year.

Here are ten scholarships which are still open for applications and are open to students at any UK university studying any subject. Worth up to $10,000, you may find that you don’t need to worry quite so much about the money you have spent on presents after all.

Quality Formations
An award of £1,000 open to all students currently enrolled at a UK college or university who have an idea for a new business.

1st Formations Scholarship
Worth £600, the 1st Formations Business Scholarship is open to anyone currently studying for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a recognised UK academic institution and display a desire to run your own business.

Couponxoo Scholarship
Open to students from all around the world. Must be aged 18 or over. Applicants have to write an essay entitled ‘Since schools must close to prevent coronavirus, how does this affect students’ education and the domestic economy’. Worth $2,000.

Proprep Scholarship
Proprep provides video-based tutorials and study guides tailored to your University course textbook or syllabus. The scholarship is open to students studying a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) subject, who are using Proprep to support their learning. Worth £5,000.

Jelvix Scholarship
Open to high school and university students worldwide with an interest in science, innovative and emerging technologies or engineering. Worth $1,000.

Black Heart Foundation Scholarships
Scholarships are offered to students at any level of education, from primary school through to postgraduate study. They are intended to support students in the advancement of their education where they might otherwise not have been  able to do so. Amount awarded varies

BeArt Presets Scholarship
Open to Yr13s who have accepted a place at university, current undergraduates and postgraduates. Applicants have to answer the question “How The BeArt Presets Academic Scholarship will help you achieve your education and career goals?”. Students worldwide are eligible to apply but you must be registered with an accredited university in your country. Worth $2,500

Go Transcript Scholarship
Open to students either in the last year of school or the first of university. Applicants have to submit a short personal statement plus an essay on the following subject “Share a story about how language has helped you express your voice.” Worth $1,000

Jack’s Flight Club
Open to any citizen and/or resident of the UK & Ireland, who is enrolled full time in an accredited University and will be studying abroad. Applicants have to submit a 500 word essay on where you’re planning on going and how studying abroad will help you achieve your ambitions, both academically and personally. Worth £500

Pitch your idea Scholarship
Open to students from around the world in secondary school through to postgraduate level studies. Applicants have to submit a pitch for their big idea. Worth up to $10,000
