Scholarships with a September closing date

Many of the scholarships which close during the month of September are related to Music and Sport.As the new intake of students is confirmed for the following academic year the universities like to sign up talented musicians and students and encourage them to either perform or represent the university while they study. Here are a selection but if you have a talent in a particular area, make sure you check out what your university offers. Think of it as getting paid to do something you enjoy!

Music Performance Scholarships
If you are going to the University of Kent and are a talented instrumentalist or singer, you could be eligible for a scholarship worth up to £2,000. Closing date 22nd September.

Bath Sports Scholarships
A range of scholarships offered to talented athletes at the University of Bath worth up to £5,000 a year. Closing date 15th September.

Canterbury Christchurch Sports Scholarships
Up to £1,500 a year to students who have represented their sport at County level or equivalent level. You must be committed to represent the University. Scholarships available in Cricket, Tennis, Hockey, Rugby. Application closing date 1st October.

Nottingham Trent Sports Scholarships
Scholarships worth up to £10,000 are typically awarded to individuals competing at junior or senior international level and are available for a range of different sports.

Leeds Cathedral Scholarships
Scholarships are available worth up to £1,500 for students to sing, conduct or play the organ for the Cathedral choir. Scholars must be attending either Leeds, Bradford or Huddersfield Universities.

The Bedfordshire Police Studentship Scheme
Open to all University of Bedfordshire applicants who have a confirmed offer to commence studies in the academic year 2017-18, have been resident in Bedfordshire since 1 May 2016 and who have an interest in a career in the police. 50% tuition fees paid for 3 years. Application closing date 30th September.
